Hi Nadine: Thanks for sharing your great idea! One question I have is, does this information have to sit in a Contact Field - or could it be placed into a CDO? I ask because I've tried to create a program that creates a new CDO that has the following fields:
- Email Address (used for mapping to the contact)
- Number Of Soft Bounce Backs - All Time
- Number Of Soft Bounce Back Checks - Failed
- In s separate program, I want to send an email to contacts who have been identified as "soft bouncers" - but haven't bounced in the last 30 days. If they run through and fail this check 3 times and bounce each of those 3 times, than I will permanently remove them from our campaigns.
- I did this as a work around - taking into consideration people who bounce back because of Out of Office, etc.
The segment / shared filter criteria that is used for these two programs are:
- Contact has had a soft bounce back to any email in the last 24 hours
- If this criteria is met, the "All Time" CDO field will be incrementally increased by 1
- Contact has a "All Time" CDO value not equal to 0 and have not bounced back from any email in the last 30 days
- If this criteria is met, and they bounce back again, the "Failed" field will be incrementally increased by 1 - until they hit the limit of 3 failed checks
- If they go through the "Failed" program and do not bounce, then the "Failed" field will be incrementally decreased by 1
Essentially, I want to follow your Outlook check in an automated process as closely as possible.
All this to say, I haven't been able to figure out how to set up a program that automatically creates a CDO record for contacts that bounce. Do you know if this is possible - or can CDO records only be created upon a form submission? The only reason I prefer to put this info into a CDO vs. a Contact Field is due to the concern of hitting my 250 contact field limit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
