My first inclination was with Ben. Have the form apply a date stamp but I am unsure if this includes time. If it does problem solved no need for .js. Just use this date stamp field in your program as the field comparison. just make sure that when you create this new field, you mark it to always update.

Re: Invalid Email Addresses - is there a way to bulk reset status?
If you put all of the contacts in an email group, you can choose in the "Advanced Options" for the email group to set all of the members to a particular status. You might try that to see if one of the possible settings works for you. You can also set the status for contacts when you upload or re-upload them through the Contact Upload wizard. I think Tero already mentioned that option.
Re: Invalid Email Addresses - is there a way to bulk reset status?
I would probably create a segment of these, download the contacts and then delete them from Eloqua instance (if of course data attached to the contacts is not crucial); then analyze to make sure they are really valid, clean up the list and re-upload clean data and put them on a contact update campaign to see if things have changedf/can be updated. But again, that's not knowing your business or data. Not sure it would be appropriate in your case.
Re: Time-Based processing steps on forms or programs or campaigns
Datestamp is fine but you'll need a program to send the email to the submitter.. on second thought.. program steps or decision rules cannot evaluate on time, just dates.. so, date stamp will be complicated.
I've gone ahead with the boolean solution. JS on the page flicks a switch based on UTC time and populates a hidden field. Value in the hidden field is then the trigger for the processing step.
Re: Does anyone use EventBrite for on-the-ground event management?
Hi,
My feeder is working but I did have some trouble initially. I think it was with the user key and company ID, versus API. I had some mixed up.
And nope, we're using the full reg page much to my chagrin.
Moving "Excluded from email: Distribution list or brochure resend" To The Next program Step
Hi All, I am digging through some of our programs and I noticed there are a large number of contacts stuck in a specific program step with the status "Excluded from email: Distribution list or brochure resend". Digging through the documentation, I figured out that it means the contact has already received the specific email. Because of this, I want to bulk move these contacts to the next step in the program so that they can continue to be nurtured.
1. Is this the right thing to do with contacts with this status?
2. Is there an easy way to bulk move contacts with this status to the next step in the program?
Also, we are still using Eloqua9.
Thanks,
Russ
Re: Moving "Excluded from email: Distribution list or brochure resend" To The Next program Step
One option is to filter out any who may have gotten the email before the send email step in your program with a decision rule; if they recieved it before, move to next step, if not, send the email.
The other is in the send email step in your program (you may need to call support and have them turn this on for you), but you can figure the step to move errors on email sends to other steps or allow resend to the same address:
Re: Moving "Excluded from email: Distribution list or brochure resend" To The Next program Step
Thanks for the info! It is going to be a major PITA to add that to every send email step in my program but that sounds like the right move. It sounds like a best practice would be to send errors that don't have checkboxes (like the Dist List resend one) to a separate path which handles each one through decision rules.
Thanks again,
Russ
Customized Reports
Our standard company reporting includes general email metrics, but it also includes date of deployment, subject line, and from name. Is there anyway to create a custom report to include any (or all) of those fields so we don't have to look them up individually for each email?
Thanks!
Re: Customized Reports
I dont have one but you may need an analyzer license to report on this. An analyzer license allows you to create custom reports.
Re: Who can help us do the impossible!
Oooh... I have an idea of how I might be able to do this for free... unfortunately my consulting services cost a bagillion dollars (just kidding).
Are you familiar with www.IFTTT.com? They connect different systems together via APIs. It allows you to build an If:Then rule called a recipe. My favourite example is 'If my mother sends me a Facebook message then send me a text message to my cell'. My sweet mother always insists on using Facebook as a medium of communication!
You will need to create a free account to see this, but here is an example of someone that is adding receipts from an email to a new row in a spreadsheet: IFTTT / Add receipts & orders to Receipt Spreadsheet by acidtest. It is very close to what you need. I expect your recipe will follow the format of: If email search returns this then add this piece of information to excel.
IFTTT is very user friendly and I tend to think you will be able to build this without any assistance. Having said that, if you do need my help - feel free to call (519 729 5621).
This is my good deed of the day!

Wow this is some cool stuff, home time now but somehow think I havent finished for the evening!
Re: Who can help us do the impossible!
Yes, this would mean finding dev friend who is prepared to put something together - feels the proper way to do it!
Re: Who can help us do the impossible!
Great suggestion Ian. I was actually speaking with a colleague the other day about a similar service () - I wish Eloqua interfaced with it.... Lots of other email services do, including Pardot, ExactTarget, etc.
Re: As you work to get the most out of marketing automation what is your biggest challenge?
Organizational- we underestimated the number of people that we'd need working on Eloqua and how many different areas of our business we would need consensus from.
Links in Topliners content - Open in new Window!
Could you please change the links in replies etc to be open in a new window - have been clicking on some helpful stuff and found myself miles away from where I started with topliners nowhere to be seen, necessitating a re-login Grrrrrrrrr
Re: As you work to get the most out of marketing automation what is your biggest challenge?
Right now for me it is the volume of request I am getting. I need help! It's going to take a while before management sees the need for us to have more dedicated resources...
Re: Who can help us do the impossible!
One way this has been accomplished in past, to process this systematically, was built using vb.net program that picks all details from email, parses it and inserts it in excel file, and then stores it in shared location (Sharepoint, ftp, box.com, etc.) every few hours. Eloqua auto synchs then takes the file and fatches it in Eloqua.
Hope this helps, requires some programming, but easily doable. (Advice free of charge )
Re: Japan Open Rates
I don't have any recent information about open rates in Japan, however most email clients nowadays block images by default. This may simply be a case of recipients opting to load images at a lower rate rather than a higher percentage of email clients blocking images.
Re: Japan Open Rates
Is this a new occurrence for you guys at PerkinElmer? I ask because our Japan emails are pretty regularly this way. In fact we only recently even started using HTML emails at all since so few email clients in Japan are set to display images at all.
